Rehearsals underway for ‘Moon Over Buffalo’ at the Gaffney Little Theatre

Rehearsals have begun for the upcoming production of “Moon Over Buffalo” at the Gaffney Little Theatre.

The play is a fast-moving comedy set in the 1950s and written by Ken Ludwig. In “Moon Over Buffalo,” aging repertory actors George and Charlotte Hay, played by Ben Dawkins and Christian Loscalzo, are struggling to prepare for their next matinee in the midst of family dramas and their own feelings of inadequacy, as they have once again not made it to the silver screen. When all seems lost, they get a second chance at stardom when famous director Frank Capra comes to town to see their matinee. If he likes what he sees, he may cast them in his next movie.

Can George and Charlotte fix their lives long enough to make it big? Find out when “Moon Over Buffalo” hits the Gaffney Little Theatre Stage March 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m. and March 4 at 3 p.m.

Cast members Mary Pat Tyndall, Jada Bell, Kinsey Gregg, Damon Green, Will Hawkins and Doug Hubbard are hard at work in preparation. They recently put together the bare bones of the set, one important part of community theatre. Involvement in the community theatre brings people together in many ways. Even those who are not skilled builders can help, it is a learning experience for all and a great way for the cast to get to know one another.

The set for “Moon Over Buffalo” was designed by Zach White, a Gaffney native and Limestone College graduate who has been involved with the theatre since he was a child. White continues to put his skills and passion for theatre to use by supporting the Gaffney Little Theatre.
