Brotherhood riders make stop in Gaffney

« »

It was a quick stop in Gaffney for members of the Carolina Brotherhood on Wednesday as the caravan of bicyclists stayed just a few minutes at the Gaffney Fire Department to cool off in the shade and fill their water bottles with cold water and fresh ice.

The Carolina Brotherhood is comprised of firefighters, police officers and emergency personnel who have been holding an annual bike ride across the Carolinas each year since 2012 to provide emotional and financial support for the families of men and women killed in the line of duty.

This year’s ride started June 12 in Smithfield, N.C., and it ended June 17 in Beaufort. The ride is several hundred miles long.
