Anne Hinton

Spartanburg, S.C. — Anne Nichols Pryce Hinton was born in Rockingham, NC on October 11, 1930. Surrounded and loved by family, she danced into heaven’s gates on March 10, 2018.

A true southern belle and entertainer to family and friends, she told stories of a life well lived. She enjoyed shagging at the beach, people, mischief, life in Asheville and on Lake Lure while always talking about the book she was going to write of her life. Anne was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Bat Cave NC.

Anne is survived by her husband of 19 years Mr. Donald E. Hinton, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC, and 3 sons Chuck Pryce (Georgana) Hendersonville, Bob Pryce (Amanda) Charlotte and Andy Pryce (Kay), Whitsett. She had 2 step-children Don Hinton Jr. (Angela) Gaffney, SC, Laura Romberg (Steve) Summerville, SC and 6 Grandchildren, Anna Pryce, Rob Pryce, Jon Shrieves, Megan Sanders, AJ Romberg & Corbin Hinton. She had 3 Great Grandchildren, Wyatt, David and Clara Shrieves (Wendell).

Anne was predeceased by her parents Robert & Mary Nichols, Rockingham, her 7 brothers and sisters Walter, Robert Jr., Bill, Vernon, Elizabeth, Beck, & Lillian and her first husband and father of her children Charles Alva Pryce in April of 1993.

A memorial service for Anne will be held at a later date at Zion United Methodist Church, Rockingham, NC where her ashes will be laid to rest in her hometown and alongside her loving husband Alva Pryce.

Anne had requested no formal services on her behalf. Her wishes were that she be remembered as the person you enjoyed and not her current state of illness.
