Ruth Childers

Gaffney, S.C. — Ruth Horn Childers, 79, formerly of 505 Filter Plant Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Agape Hospice House in Lexington, SC.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Paul Childers and daughter of the late Jack Horn and Beulah Ramsey Horn. She was a homemaker, loved sewing and cooking, and a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Jeff Sellars (Tracy Causby) of Valdese, NC; a daughter, Karen Isler and husband, Wayne, Sr. of Gaffney; a sister, Genelle Horn Owens of Six Mile; two grandchildren, Christina Gossett and husband, Jammie, and Wayne Isler, Jr. and wife, April; four great-grandchildren, Justin Gossett, Kayla Burris, Cody Isler and Breanna Vick; three great-great grandchildren, Brooklynn Layton, Harrison Layton and Riley Isler; numerous step-children, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Reid Horn and a sister, Barbara Sue Horn.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daryl Tolleson and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at their respective homes.
