Coyt Hines

Gaffney, S.C. — Coyt Ernest Hines, 85, of 171 Bailey Bridge Road, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Mooresboro, N.C., he was the husband of the late Blonnie Hayes Hines and son of the late Hiley O. Hines and Gladys Cromer. He retired from Duke Power, loved his family and NASCAR and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a son, Coyt Allen Hines and wife, Glenda of Gaffney; a daughter, Deborah Thomas and husband, Roger of Gaffney; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Hines of Chesnee; six grandchildren, Zeb Hines and wife, Jennifer, Todd Hines and wife, Sarah, Brandy Potter and husband, Philip, Jalea Bayne and husband, Austin, Jake Hines and Holly Hines; nine great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Colton, Bailey, Carson, Hunter, Savannah, Alice, Lucy and Silas. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a son, Vance Hines and a daughter-in-law, Faye Hines.

The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewitt Clyde and Mrs. Brandy Potter officiating. Interment will be in the New Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

The family will be at the residence, 171 Bailey Bridge Road, Gaffney.
