Now that’s Italian!

« »

Family of Diana Reid, an 11-year cancer survivor, served a true Italian dinner Thursday night as a benefit for Diana’s Susan G. Komen 3-Day, 60 Mile Walk for the Cure.

Her parents, siblings, nephews, in-laws and friends helped cook and serve the meal consisting of homemade spaghetti and meatballs, bread, salad and an array of desserts. Friends of Diana’s also helped in serving and cleaning up after the meal.

“They are an awesomely large and close, true Italian family,” said Tina McSwain of Diana’s family. “We had just as much fun washing dishes, mopping, sweeping and cleaning the serving pans, I love that family. They have always extended their family boundaries to include everyone in my family too, they are a very special group that shares their love with everyone. George and Esther not only put their Italian spices into their sauce, they put their deep love for everyone into their sauce.”
