Lady Indians top Broome

By LARRY HILLIARD
Ledger Sports Editor

Olivia Henson put her bat and arm to good use on Thursday.

Henson scattered three hits, struck out nine and helped her own cause with a solo homer to power the Gaffney softball team to a 4-1 win over Broome on Thursday. Henson allowed just two walks.

The Lady Indians added single tallies in the first and fourth innings before sealing the win with two in the fifth.

After Henson’s solo shot, Kerrigan Thornton singled, Makayla Wilson singled and Faith Belue knocked in a run.

Gaffney, 3-1 overall, will host Rock Hill on Tuesday in a big region game.
