Rheba Lancaster, pianist and Sunday School teacher at Goodes Creek Church

Rheba Sue Champion Lancaster, 68, of Gaffney, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 12, at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Rich Lancaster and the Rev. Clay Earle. A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lavonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Moores-boro, N.C.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William Lancaster of the home; two children, Rich Lancaster and wife, Lisa, of Gaffney and Kim Earle and husband, Clay, of Bostic, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Katie Lancaster Burns and husband, Kyle, of Spartanburg, Luke Lancaster, Hannah Lancaster, Emmie Sue Lancaster, all of Gaffney, Clayton Earle, Ashleigh Earle and Wesley Earle, all of Bostic, N.C.; three brothers, David Champion and, Lisa, of Kings Mountain, N.C., Don Champion of and Blane Champion, both of Shelby, N.C.

Born Nov. 6, 1946, in Cleveland County, Mrs. Lancaster was the daughter of the late Raymond Flay and Eva Lou Hamrick Champion and was preceded in death by a daughter, Lora Lancaster. Rheba loved and served her Lord Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of Goodes Creek Baptist Church, where she served as pianist and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed playing the Mandolin and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
