Charles Ivey, retired from Duke Energy

Charles Monroe Ivey, 77, of 2112 Boiling Springs Hwy., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late Sandra Peeler Ivey and son of the late Ed Ivey and Amie Humphries Ivey. Mr. Ivey retired from Duke Energy, loved hunting and racing, especially dirt track racing, and was a member of Camps Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, David Ivey and wife, Shari, and Todd Ivey and wife, Kimberly, all of Gaffney; a brother Guy Ivey and wife, Elaine, of Gaffney; two sisters, Frances Ivey and Shirley Ridings and husband, Jimmy, all of Gaffney; and three grandchildren, Nicole Redmon, Tyler Holmes and Taylor Ivey.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Blakely Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Camps Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Morehead and Mr. Kenny Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Camps Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be at residence, 2112 Boiling Springs Hwy., Gaffney.
