Fans of Dunkin’ Donuts could soon be rejoicing with the opening of its Gaffney store.

A city official said the shop could open by Thanksgiving, giving coffee and donut lovers another reason to celebrate the season.

The shop will be located on Floyd Baker Boulevard near Pizza Hut.

In addition to selling coffee and donuts, the shop will offer lunch sandwiches and breakfast croissants.

The 1,674-square-foot building will seat about 20 people .

According to the company, Dunkin’ Donuts sells more than one billion cups of hot and iced coffee and about 2.1 billion donuts and munchkin donut hole treats combined globally per year.

Today, there are more than 10,000 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants worldwide — more than 7,000 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in 36 states in the U.S. plus the District of Columbia, and more than 3,000 international restaurants in 31 other countries.
