Gaffney tailback Hyleck Foster has picked up an offer from the Marshall Thundering Herd.

Gaffney High coach Dan Jones said the scholarship offer was made Thursday.

“(Hyleck) is very excited about this one,” Jones said.

Marshallfinished5-7aayearagobut has a long and distinguished history with several alums in the NFL, including wide receiver Randy Moss, quarterback Byron Leftwich and running back Ahmad Bradshaw.

Jones said that West Virginia is expected to visit soon and might be offering a scholarship.

Two weeks ago, Foster picked up an offer from Eastern Michigan of the Mid American Conference.

Foster, who gained more than 1,800 yards last season, received an offer from Old Dominion University and Mercer earlier this month.

Purdue of the Big 10 also has expressed a strong interest in the running back.

Foster said recently he plans to make recruiting visits this spring and summer to West Virginia, Marshall, North Carolina State, North Carolina and Kentucky.

Although he played running back, Foster has said he’s being looked at as a slot receiver by colleges.
