Miss Kite, Mr. Ruppe wed at Surfside Beach


MR. AND MRS. DILLON THOMAS RUPPE MR. AND MRS. DILLON THOMAS RUPPE Kaley Suzanne Kite and Dillon Thomas Ruppe were united in marriage Saturday, April 27, 2013, beside the sea at Surfside Beach. Richard Crout officiated the 4 p.m. double ring ceremony that was followed by a reception at Surfside Oceanfront Holiday Inn.

The couple exchanged their wedding vows before an arbor adorned with flowers and stood inside a heart that was outlined in the sand with rose petals.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Shirley Kite of Gaffney and granddaughter of the late Rufus and Virginia Kite. A graduate of Gaffney High School, she received a degree in chemistry/ biology from Mars Hill College and works with PPG Fiberglass Industries in Shelby. She is also a clogging instructor at Twist & Shout Cheer & Dance in Union.

The groom is the son of Joel and Nikki Trusty and Thomas Ruppe, all of Gaffney. His grandparents are Earl and Mary Nell Hess and Mary Wright, all of Gaffney, and the late Glenn Wright. A graduate of Gaffney High School, he received a degree in welding from Spartanburg Community College and works with Keystone Constructors at BMW.

Mr. and Mrs. Ruppe are making their home in Gaffney after a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a tea-length dress featuring a sweetheart neckline and bodice accented with crystals. The skirt was covered with organza ruffles. Her hair was adorned with a barrette of crystals and she carried a Malibu blue flower enhanced with center crystals and a stem wrapped with white silk.

Sheena Camp of Gaffney was the bride's honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Jenna Kit, sister in-law of the bride, Ashley Ruppe, sister of the groom, Gia Garner, cousin of the bride, all of Gaffney, and Heather Boyd of Charleston, friend of the bride. They were attired in Malibu blue dresses featuring one-shoulder bodices and ruched waistlines. They carried white baby's breath with white glittery starfish.

Kylee Rice of Gaffney served as flower girl. She wore a white sparkly dress trimmed with white flowers and carried a Malibu blue sand bucket with seashells.

Tucker Todd of Gaffney, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

The groom was attended by his brother, Derick Seals, of Gaffney as best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Ruppe, father of the groom, Dustin Kite, brother of the bride, Axl Bartlett and Johnathan Davis, friends of the groom, all of Gaffney.
