Marshall Logan, 78, retired from Monsanto

Marshall Logan, 78, of 412 Dogwood Drive, husband of Mary Wallace Logan, passed on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at 1:40 a.m. in Spartanburg.

Son of the late Albert Logan and the late Sinnie Manning Logan, he was born Oct. 17, 1933, in Cleveland County, N.C. He was a member of Youngs Grove Baptist Church, a graduate of Compact High School in Kings Mountain, N.C., and retired from Monsanto of Moore. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of the Blacksburg All Male Chorus, an acappella group that has been featured on ETV and whose picture is displayed in the Science Museum in Columbia.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Emory Marshall Logan Jr. of Bedford, Texas; five daughters, Deborah Johnson of Washington, D.C., Charlotte Logan of Greensboro, N.C., Gracie Perkins, Addieleen Crocker, both of Grover, N.C., and Fonda Logan of Kings Mountain; a brother, William Logan of Gaffney; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family is at 96 Granite Drive.
