The Post 109 junior team’s offense finally came to life in a 12-8 win over Union on Monday.

Eight of the team’s nine starters had at least one hit. Post 109 put runs on the board in every inning except the fifth.

Austin Wagener was the beneficiary of the offensive explosion, picking up the win while giving up only three earned runs.

Zach Wood, Colby Crow and Bryson Ward were the hitting stars. Wood doubled and singled and drove in three runs, while Crow went 2 for 5 with two RBIs and Ward went 3 for 3 with two singles, a double and two RBIs.

“The effort was 1,000 percent better,” Post 109 coach Aaron Epps said. “Every time (Union) scored, we responded.”
