Betty Martin

WELLFORD – Betty Ruth Moss Martin, 80, formerly of 135 Martin Lane, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Magnolia Manor in Inman.

Born in Cherokee Falls, she was the wife of William Howard Martin for 60 years and daughter of the late Forrest and Bessie Childers Moss. Mrs. Martin was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, retired from Springs Industries and a member of Jackson Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Howard Douglas Martin andwife, Judy, of Smyrna and Terry William Martin and wife, Kim, of Green Creek, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jenny Thompson and husband, John, Melissa Lineberger and husband, Jonathan, William Martin and wife, Kacie, and Matthew Martin; and five great-grandchildren, Tori Thompson, Janna Thompson, Mason Lineberger, Liam Martin and Rosemary Martin.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Moss and Rion Moss, and two sisters, Geraldine White and Mildred Daw.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Blakely Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, at Broad River Baptist Church in Smyrna with the Rev. Rick Fuller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at their respective homes.
