Items stolen in break-in

Almost $2,000 in electronics was reported stolen following a Sept. 24 break-in on Hopewell Road in Blacksburg.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry to a home in the 100 block between 9:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. and stole a 42-inch RCAbrand television, a 42- inch Sony-brand television, a Sharp-brand camcorder and a Canon digital camera.

 A flat screen television was stolen from a home on Dickson Road in Blacksburg during a Sept. 24 break-in.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry to a home in the 200 block between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. and took a 32-inch Vizio television.

A weed trimmer also was stolen from a storage shed on the property during the same time span.

Theft and damage losses are estimated at $800.

 A Blacksburg gas station is out more than $600 in diesel fuel after a trucker drove off without paying.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, a trucker filled up his tanks with 212.85 gallons of diesel at the Wilco Hess, East Cherokee Street, at about 1:10 p.m. Sept. 25, and drove away without paying.

The gas station was able to provide police with a truck company name and truck number, as well as a possible name of the driver.
