Professors of Soul will perform here Aug. 6

The 2010 run of the successful “Shindig at the Gaffney Cabin” free concert series, with only two shows to go, will continue on Friday, Aug. 6. The concert, from 6:30-9 p.m., will feature a performance by The Professors of Soul.

The Professors of Soul has quickly become a phenomenon in the Southeast. Led by “Professor” Monty Craig, Professor of Jazz Guitar at Clemson University, the band features vocalist, Tameka Simmons, and drummer, Jaze Gartrell, along with special guest vocalists, Elaine Garrett and Craig Sorrells.

The Professors’ show is a Soul and R&B extravaganza, with performances featuring 60s and 70s Soul, Funk and R&B classics, alongside contemporary Neo-Soul and R&B hits of today.

The shows are highenergy with lots of audience participation and the group keeps everyone dancing all night long.

The band is being billed as one of the top bands for clubs and festivals in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, and has performed at some of the most prestigious weddings throughout the Southeast. Visit their website at www.theprofessorsofsoul. com.
