Miss Hermosillo, Mr. Grinter married June 27 in Colorado

MR. AND MRS. LAWTON GRINTER MR. AND MRS. LAWTON GRINTER Felicia Hermosillo and Lawton Grinter, both of Lakewood, Colo., were married on June 27, 2010, in Crested Butte, Colo.

The bride is the daughter of Hazel and Domingo Hermosillo of Chelsea, Mich. The groom is the son of Lawrence Grinter of Montgomery, Ala., and Barbara Grinter of Gaffney. He is the grandson of Maria Moss of Gaffney and the late Harold E. Moss.

The ceremony took place outdoors in the flower garden at the home of some friends with Mt. Crested Butte, Mt. Emmons and Gothic Mountain as the backdrop. In Colorado, a clergyman is not required to perform the wedding; the marriage license suffices. Therefore, the bride's father conducted the service and members of both families participated with readings and music. The bride and groom exchanged vows that each had written for the other.

Anna and Nandito Hermosillo, niece and nephew of the bride, were flower girl and ring bearer, but each carried only bubble makers and blew bubbles as they walked toward the improvised altar. The bride wore a beautiful dress sewn by her mother and locally grown lilies in her hair.

The wedding reception was held at Rainbow Park in Crested Butte. The bride and groom rode bicycles to the reception. Both bicycles were decorated and had "Just Married" license plates on the back. They were followed by many of the wedding guests, also on bikes. As they rode through the streets of town, people cheered and honked car horns. It was a lovely setting for a most unique and wonderful wedding.
