Authorities said an 11-yearold girl was accidentally shot in the face Friday evening by a teenage boy at her home in Cherokee County.

Ashley Parris, 11, was flown by helicopter to a Greenville hospital after a juvenile accidentally shot her with a handgun, according to an incident report on file at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

Parris was shot just below her right ear lobe at the back of her jaw, the incident report states. The incident occurred at Parris' residence Friday between 7:40 p.m. and 7:53 p.m.

A Regional One medical helicopter initially took the girl to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Parris was transferred from the Spartanburg hospital to Greenville Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

Parris was listed in good condition Sunday afternoon, a Greenville hospital spokesperson said.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
