Annie A. Baker

Annie Mae Anthony Baker, 74, of 112 Marietta St., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow Marshal (Jim) Dupree Baker and daughter of the late Stan Hope and Edith Self Anthony. She was retired from the textile industry and was a member of East Gaffney Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Bobby Anthony and wife, Tommie Lynn, Stan Baker and wife, Lisa, and Dupree Baker Jr. and fiance', Lauren Eckley, all of Gaffney; a daughter, Marsha Smith and husband, Bobby, of Gaffney; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Anthony of Gaffney; and a sister, Betty Petrea of Gaffney.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Unit, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, S.C. 29615.
