Sixteen middle school and high school students make up the ensemble cast. The point of Delia Ephron's book is to offer lessons in not being grown-up. With clever lyrics and music by John Forster, the play consists of vignettes that examine relationships between parents and children, all of which have the kids looking better than their parents and always coming out on top.

In an ensemble show all of the roles are of equal importance, so each cast member is seen and heard in many different scenes. This show allows each actor to show off his or her comedic talents, musical virtuosity, movement and dance skills, and timing.
