Nathaniel Houser

Retired from Cone Mills

Nathaniel Junior Houser, 68, of 187 Ann's Trail, died Monday, April 5, 2008, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Widower of Rophelia Camp Houser, he was born in Johnson City, Tenn., a son of the late Nathaniel and Helen Mickles Houser. He was a member of Suck Creek Baptist Church and a retired employee of Cone Mills.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Houser was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Dewberry.

Surviving are five sons, Nathaniel Leon Houser (Angela) of Gaffney, Ricky Houser (Joyce) of Spartanburg, Henry Houser (Allison) of Greer, Raymond Camp (Margaret) of Shelby, N.C., Dale Houser (Tasha) of Bridgeport, Conn.; six daughters, Ann Hawes (Jack) of Spartanburg, Brenda Okum (Ude) and Telisa Watkins (Keith), all of Gaffney, Tasheena Dillard of Cowpens, Alice Hawes of Spartanburg and Sheryl Houser of Stone Mountain, Ga.; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, May 10, at 2:30 p.m. at Suck Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Macomson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
