Frances Anthony Hearon

Retired from Dr. Lee Nesbitt's office as office manager

Frances Anthony Hearon, 90, formerly of 145 Pacolet Hwy., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Upstate C a r o l i n a M e d i c a l Center.

A native of Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Issac Ouitman Anthony and Sue Weir Anthony and the widow of the late James Victor Hearon. She was retired from Dr. Lee Nesbitt's office as office manager. Mrs. Hearon was a poll worker and former member of Oakland Cemetery Committee. She was active in Veteran’s Affairs and helped design the former City Police Department. Mrs. Hearon was a member of Limestone Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a son, Craig Hearon and wife, Susan, of Florence; a sister, Betty Dill of Gaffney; two granddaughters, Emily Hearon of Atlanta and Margaret Hearon of Florence; two nephews, Larry Sossamon and Frank Sossamon, both of Gaffney; and other nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hearon was preceded in death by three brothers, Herndon Anthony, I.Q. Anthony Jr. and John Anthony; and five sisters, Mae Clary, Doris Etheridge, Sue Swink, Lee Sossamon and Juanita Hellebrand.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Limestone Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Sidney Norton officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Sossamon, Matt Sossamon, David Sossamon, Kevin Lemmonds, Kevin Scurry and Chad Tessner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edward DeCamp Sossamon Scholarship Fund at Limestone College, 1115 College Drive, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Sossamon, 126 Forest Hills Drive.
