Miss Hamrick and Mr. Harris marry in Hawaii

MR. AND MRS. JOHN DAVID HARRIS MR. AND MRS. JOHN DAVID HARRIS Jamie Renea Hamrick and John David Harris were married June 29, 2006, by the sea in Maui, Hawaii. The Rev. John Souter officiated the 6 p.m. double ring ceremony. A reception, given by the bride's parents, followed at Seawatch Resort.

After spending their honeymoon in Kona, Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Harris are making their home in Gaffney.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cleveland Hamrick Jr. of Gaffney. Her grandparents are Charles Hamrick Sr. and the late Olga Hamrick of Gaffney and the late R.B. Sanders and Frances Sanders of Gaffney. A 2002 graduate of Gaffney High School and summa cum laude graduate of USC-Upstate, she is a mathematics teacher at Gaffney High School.

Mr. Harris is the son of Steven Ralph Harris and Judy Lousia Martin, both of Gaffney. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. William Jimmy Martin Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Leon Harris, all of Gaffney. A 2001 graduate of Gaffney High School, he is employed as a sales representative at Ceres Transportation Group Inc., headquartered in Charlotte.

Music was provided by Jaime Lawarence, guitarist and vocalist, whose selections included "When You Say Nothing At All," 'Have I Told You Lately" and "She's Got A Way."

Given in marriage by her father, the bride carried a bouquet of yellow calla lilies.

Prior to the wedding, a number of showers and parties was given in honor of the couple.

Teresa Hughey, Debbie Phillips, Morgan Hughey and Emily Phillips were hostesses for a shower as were Amanda LeMaster, June LeMaster and Velma LeMaster.

The ladies of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church were hostesses for a shower and another shower was given by Ashley Love, Ashley Childers and Robyn Hill.

A rehearsal dinner at Old Lahaina Luau was given by Jimbo and Joanie Martin and David Martin.

A bridal luncheon was hosted by Pam Blanton.
